We strive to ensure every VCU student has an individualized, yet common, student development pathway towards their self-subscribed academic and career development goals. First-year experience
In their first year, new students will engage in unique experiences and activities focused on four pillars:

Second-year experience
During their “year of purpose,” second-year students will engage in activities focused on four pillars:
- Sense of self
- Academic integration and success
- Social engagement and capital
